Kenneth H. Lemp Elevator Consultant, Inc. (KH Lemp) was founded in 1984 by Kenneth H. Lemp after a lengthy career of employment with Otis Elevator Company. Kenneth was joined by his son, James A. Lemp, PE in 1990 and the firm has become a leader in the elevator consulting industry in St. Louis and surrounding Missouri State region. Kenneth has since retired and James now heads the firm that employees four (4) full time personnel and one (1) part time person.
KH Lemp provides a variety of vertical transportation services to building owners, developers, architects and contractors. Whether it be design and development services to determine the extent of renovation for existing equipment and to identify associated building work, construction document preparation for new or existing installations, vertical traffic analysis, maintenance contract conformance evaluations, or due diligence reports, KH Lemp provides professional service by consultants with experience and knowledge of the elevator industry. KH Lemp additionally has an inspection arm to perform periodic inspections as required by the State of Missouri and GSA.
KH Lemp is knowledgeable on all present day code requirements including ASME A17.1 Safety Code for Elevators & Escalators, IBC & BOCA Codes, NEC Code, A117.1 Accessibility Standards, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requirements as they relate to elevators and escalators, and the State of Missouri’s Elevator Safety Act and Rules.
